My CNC has Hiwin HG25 linear bearings. My current maintenance has been to use a manual grease gun to questionably lubricate them. I say questionably due to being a one person operation I can't really have the machine moving while holding/pumping the grease gun, so I move the bearing 4" and shoot again. My other paranoia is if I am getting all the ball lubricated.
Hiwin offers kits to add onto their bearing blocks for lubrication. They call them the E2 series and appear to be able to install on an assembled machine. (I sent an email to Stovil for more info.)
Does anyone have experience with these?
For grins, I was going down a rabbit hole looking for a "grease pump" to use with the bearings while the CNC was in motion, but Hiwin could give me no information, just response that they only sell manual pumps. The electric grease pumps I could find seem to be only for vehicles or heavy machinery with 9k+ psi.
Steve.
